At ShorePoint Health Venice's Outpatient Imaging Center located at HealthPark, our mission is to provide compassionate, quality breast care, diagnosis and treatment. We want to be the health care provider of choice, valued and trusted for our knowledge, compassion and quality care. Our breast health center is available to women who need routine screenings or further diagnostic procedures and treatments.
For women of average risk, the American College of Radiology recommends annual mammograms starting at age 40, with no upper age limit as long as the woman is in good health. Different guidelines apply to women at higher risk.** A screening mammogram can help detect breast cancer in its earliest and most treatable stages.
ShorePoint Health Venice HealthPark has held the distinction of Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, awarded by the American College of Radiology (ACR), since 2010. Along with this voluntary distinction, we continue to maintain the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program as outlined by the ACR. It is our goal to be your health care provider of choice and provide the most compassionate and comprehensive breast care. Our certified mammography technologists have many years of experience and their trusted and valued knowledge provides quality care to all patients. This includes 3D screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasound, breast biopsy procedures and pre-operative breast procedures.

3D Tomosynthesis Mammography
3D mammograms are particularly good for patients who have very dense breast tissue; however, they are beneficial to everyone, regardless of the patient’s age or breast density. A 3D mammogram can detect breast cancer at early stages because of the additional images available to the radiologist during interpretation. We perform 3D screening mammograms for all patients because they often provide greater accuracy and help to reduce the need for additional imaging of the breast. Greater accuracy means better breast cancer detection, potentially at an earlier stage, when breast cancer is easier to treat.
Breast MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
At ShorePoint Health Venice, the main hospital campus, we have acquired breast MRI technology that uses radio waves and strong magnets to make detailed pictures of the inside of the breast. The images are then viewed by a radiologist using an advanced imaging system to screen for breast cancer or determine the extent of previously diagnosed breast cancer. Breast MRI may be recommended for women at high risk for breast cancer or those who have had an abnormal mammogram.

Breast Health Navigation Program
We offer our patients the service of our breast health navigator once they are diagnosed with a breast issue that requires further care and treatment. Our navigator serves as a patient advocate, supporting and guiding the patient and their family, as well as providing educational, emotional and social support.
Mammo Money Program
In October 2011, Venice firefighter Frank Giddens, spearheaded The Mammo Money Program by donating all of the proceeds from their breast cancer awareness fundraising efforts to the Hospital Volunteers of Venice at ShorePoint Health Venice. Through the generosity of The Venice Firefighters Benevolent Fund and the Hospital Volunteers of Venice, the Mammo Money Program provides mammograms for women in the Venice Community who cannot afford them and would otherwise not get an annual screening mammogram or recommended additional imaging. The mammograms are provided by our outstanding team of certified mammography technologists.

Appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis. An order from a physician or qualified healthcare provider is required. All mammogram reports will be sent to the physician/provider, and the patient is responsible for follow-up. Check with your insurance provider to confirm coverage for a screening mammogram. If you do not have insurance, options may be available to help with the cost.
