Venice Regional Bayfront Health Earns High Marks for Low Readmissions for Pneumonia
5/30/2017
Venice Regional Bayfront Health is one of only three Florida hospitals – and the only one south of Tampa Bay – listed among 52 hospitals with the lowest readmission rates for patients treated for pneumonia. The ranking was published by Becker’s Hospital Review based on data from CMS Hospital Compare.
“This recognition validates our continuous focus on quality patient care, particularly given the prevalence of pneumonia in older populations, like the community we serve in Venice,” said Karlene Pietranton, Venice Regional’s chief quality officer.
All hospitals on the list have a pneumonia 30-day readmission rate of less than 14.2 percent, compared to the national average of 17.1 percent. Venice Regional’s rate is 13.7. Becker’s based the ranking on data published on the CMS Hospital Compare website from July 2012 through June 2015, the most recent data available.
