VENICE, FL, 8/30/19 – As our Venice community prepares for the impact of Hurricane Dorian, Venice Regional Bayfront Health is offering free telehealth visits on Virtual Health Connect to help area residents impacted by the storm get non-emergency medical care. The free telehealth visits are available starting at 12:01 a.m. on September 1 through 11:59 p.m. on September 14, 2019 on any mobile device, computer or tablet.
Access your free virtual visit by downloading the VirtualHealthConnect app from the App Store or Google Play, or by visiting VirtualHealthConnect.Com. At the time of the visit, patients can enter coupon code DORIAN to have their visit free of charge.
If you are experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency, please call 9-1-1.
“Telehealth service is a great convenience, but during hurricane conditions, it can make the difference in getting the care you need. We are proud to bring this healthcare option to patients in our community in the coming days when the forces of nature prevent regular visits to your physician’s office.” said Karen Fordham, Chief Executive Officer of Venice Regional Bayfront Health.
Virtual Health Connect provides on demand, live access to physicians and nurse practitioners at any time, but may be particularly helpful as members of the community are coping with the impact of rain, winds and flooding. Clinicians can help counsel individuals and families in their time of need with this quick and convenient program.
Virtual Health Connect is intended for patients who have an urgent need to see a physician for minor health concerns like sinus problems, fever, ear infections, cold and flu symptoms, allergies, migraines, stomach pain, and much more. The doctor will evaluate and diagnose the patient, and if feasible and appropriate, send prescriptions to the pharmacy—just like an in-office doctor’s appointment.
