Dr. Jaime Baquero Joins Gulf Coast Medical Group Gastroenterology in Venice

(Venice, FL – September 14, 2021) – Board-certified gastroenterologist Jaime Baquero, M.D., has joined Gulf Coast Medical Group, bringing his extensive experience in gastroenterology and digestive health to Venice Regional Bayfront Health.

“Many gastrointestinal conditions are lifestyle-related, so I focus on understanding the whole patient,” says Dr. Baquero. “I create an environment of trust so that patients can be open about their lives, understand their illness, and become fully engaged in treatments and lifestyle changes necessary to achieve their best life.”

Dr. Baquero works to diagnose, treat and prevent diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, pancreas and gall bladder. He earned his medical degree from Escuela Colombiana de Medicina in Colombia. Dr. Baquero completed his residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Fellowship training at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (formerly known as the Lahey Clinic, a teaching hospital of Tufts University School of Medicine based in Burlington, Massachusetts), Dr. Baquero also was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Joslin Diabetes Center of Harvard Medical School in Boston. He has been caring for patients since 2002, most recently in Sarasota.
