6/25/2018
St. Petersburg and Crystal River, Fla. – June 25, 2018 – Bayfront Health Network today announced that Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center will join the network as Bayfront Health Seven Rivers, effective July 1, 2018. The hospital also announced the appointment of Linda Stockton as Chief Executive Officer and $1.6 million in capital projects.
“The addition of Seven Rivers to Bayfront Health extends the geographic reach of our network, providing patients with both greater access to services and continuity of care across the Bayfront network,” said Joe Mullany, regional president and CEO of Bayfront Health. “It strengthens what we can offer patients and allows us to exchange best practices, achieve operational efficiencies and enhance the care we provide across the entire region.”
With the addition of Seven Rivers to its network, Bayfront Health will consist of seven hospitals: Bayfront Health Brooksville, Bayfront Health Port Charlotte, Bayfront Health Punta Gorda, Bayfront Health Seven Rivers, Bayfront Health Spring Hill, Bayfront Health St. Petersburg and Venice Regional Bayfront Health.
Together, the system has 1,626 beds, a combined active medical staff of more than 2,270 physicians and more than 4,850 employees working together to provide quality healthcare for our region. Collectively, Bayfront Health hospitals had more than 57,000 inpatient admissions, 202,000 emergency room visits and nearly 6,900 deliveries in 2016.
A seasoned hospital executive with more than 25 years of experience, newly appointed Chief Executive Officer Linda Stockton has served as Interim CEO at Seven Rivers since April of 2018. Prior to that, she served as CEO at Bayfront Health Dade City. Having developed a reputation for her hands-on approach when it comes to clinical and operational strategies, Stockton also is known for her demonstrated commitment to developing strong relationships with employees and members of the medical staff.
“Joining Bayfront Health supports our efforts to deliver safe, quality patient care while positioning our hospital for long-term success and strength,” says Stockton. “Seven Rivers’ mission will remain the same, and what we do on a day-to-day level – caring for the people who live in our community – won’t change. Being part of Bayfront Health will only strengthen what we can offer our patients.”
Bayfront Health Seven Rivers will continue to operate with local leadership and make decisions about the services, physicians and resources available to the community. A distinct and dedicated Board of Trustees will continue to exist for Bayfront Health Seven Rivers.
The hospital will begin capital projects, totaling $1.6 million, to expand surgical capacity and renovate the main lobby to provide patients and their families a more comfortable and welcoming environment.
