At Risk for Falls? Venice Regional Offers Free Lifeline Monitoring Trial
10/27/2016
The Hospital Volunteers of Venice organization, in collaboration with Venice Regional Bayfront Health and Gulf Coast Medical Group clinics, is offering 60 days of the Lifeline monitoring service at no cost to Venice area residents who are at risk for falls.
The Lifeline necklace detects sudden changes in the wearer’s position and automatically alerts first responders. Monitoring a person for falls not only contributes to the individual’s safety and peace of mind, but it also may reduce hospital readmissions.
The 60-day trial is available to patients of Venice Regional and Gulf Coast Medical Group. A 30-day trial is open to the public. There is no obligation after the trial. Individuals who want to continue the service can arrange payment through a local Lifeline office.
Hospital volunteers provide installation, and proceeds from ongoing service contracts benefit the community through scholarships and grants supplied by the Hospital Volunteers of Venice.
