Biography
Tracy Ng, D.O., is an orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship-trained in sports medicine and arthroscopy – a minimally invasive procedure for diagnosing and treating joint problems. She performs robot-guided surgery for knee and hip replacement. As a member of the medical staff at Venice Regional Bayfront Health, Dr. Ng offers a wide range of other services including total shoulder arthroplasty, rotator cuff repair and ACL reconstruction. Dr. Ng offers telehealth visits.
Dr. Ng has been caring for patients in Sarasota County since 2015 and has performed surgery at Venice Regional and other hospitals in the region. With her sports medicine knowledge, she has helped coordinate the care of numerous high school, college and professional athletes. She is the team physician for the Atlanta Braves during spring training and for North Port High School. Previously, she was the sports medicine team physician at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, girls’ soccer team physician at The Imagine School North Port and the football team physician at Jackson State University.
Dr. Ng completed medical school at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York, and orthopedic surgery residency at Plainview Hospital in the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System. She then completed additional training in sports medicine and arthroscopy/minimally invasive surgery at the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Jackson, Mississippi, and Tulane University in New Orleans. As a fellow in Jackson and New Orleans, Dr. Ng operated with world-renowned surgeons and participated in nearly 1,000 surgeries of the shoulder, knee, hip and elbow.
Dr. Ng says there is nothing more satisfying than enhancing a patient’s quality of life by helping them return to maximum function and activity. She also says that regardless of age, patients she has met during her time in Venice have been as physically active as their bodies will allow. Her passion is to restore as much of that ability as possible.
