About the Doctor
Biography
Jason Collins, M.D., has been caring for patients in Sarasota County since 2015 and he performs knee and hip replacement at Venice Regional. With his orthopedic surgery and sports medicine experience, he has helped coordinate the care of numerous high school, college and professional athletes and performing arts organizations.
Dr. Collins completed medical school at New York University and an orthopedic surgery residency at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases. He then completed further training as UHZ Sports Medicine Fellow at Miami Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute. He is a certified fellow of both arthroscopic surgery (minimally invasive surgical techniques) and orthopedic surgery sports medicine. Dr. Collins is a co-author of numerous scientific publications and has lectured extensively on orthopedic conditions and treatments.
Dr. Collins is eager to help athletes and others in the North Port area who are dealing with the pain and limitations of orthopedic problems. He said helping people return to their favorite activities is the culmination of his years of education, training and experience, and it’s the reason he does what he does.
